FREE Face-to-Face Homebuyer’s Education Class
Classes are held at Project Home 1922 Stoughton Rd, Madison. To register call 608-246-3737.
These classes are two parts and home buyers must attend BOTH sessions. The first night is designed for anyone even remotely interested in purchasing a house and will include:
- Budgeting/Money Management
- Credit including credit reports/scores and how to improve credit scores
- Mortgage Basics including steps, ratios and prequalifying
- Overview of special lending programs and down payment assistance
- Fair lending practices
- Shopping for a home – what to consider
- Home Buying Team
- Working with a Realtor
The second night is designed for purchase ready home buyers and will include:
- More in-depth information:
- Lending process
- Special lending programs
- Down payment assistance
- Home Inspection
- Home Owners Insurance
- Home Warranties
- Closing process and forms
The program is designed so purchase ready home buyers can attend both nights in the same month while non-purchase ready home buyers can attend the sessions several months apart. BOTH sessions are required for Home Buyer Education certificates
